A Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for Hamilton.

Environment Canada has issued the advisory for Friday morning and afternoon.

According to Environment Canada, lake effect snow from Lake Ontario is expected to hit the city early Friday morning and last until the afternoon.

Residents are advised to expect roughly 5 cm of the white stuff until it starts to taper off later in the day.

Drivers are advised to anticipate poor visibility during the aforementioned times, particularly along the QEW between Stoney Creek and St. Catharines.
