Police have reported a fatality following Friday afternoon’s double stabbing.

Around 12:40 p.m. on November 13, police responded to a disturbance call at a residence near Upper Paradise and Bendamere Avenue on Hamilton’s west mountain.

“When officers arrived, they found a female and male, both 63-years-old, suffering from stab wounds,” said police.

“The male suspect then exited the residence armed with a knife and charged at officers.”

Police discharged both a conducted energy weapon (CEW) and a firearm before arresting the 30 year old male, who was uninjured. He will appear in court on Saturday, November 14.

The female victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the male sustained serious injuries.

On Saturday morning, police confirmed that the female victim succumbed to her injuries in what is considered the 15th homicide of the year in Hamilton.

“Our thoughts are with her family,” police said.

The male and the two victims in this incident were reportedly related to each other.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and police are expected to provide more information later today.
