Toronto Pearson International Airport announced it has launched a COVID-19 testing program that began on Wednesday (January 6).
As part of the program, international travelers arriving in Canada will have access to free, voluntary tests being administered by Switch Health.
The pilot program is part of the Healthy Airport program, which is intended to help Ontario communities by limiting the spread of the virus.
Tests are available at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and Canadian citizens and permanent residents returning from international travel, and foreign nationals currently permitted entry into the country are eligible to receive one.
Test results are typically available within 48 hours, at which time Switch Health will provide the results through the preferred communication method of the person tested—either text or email.
