Top 5 places in Hamilton for fried chicken

If you’ve ever been to Nashville and tasted the fried chicken, you would understand the fried chicken craving I’ve been having recently.

Thankfully, in Hamilton there is no shortage of great fried chicken options.

Want it on a waffle? We’ve got it. Want it in a sandwich? We’ve got it. Want so many options you could eat it every day? We’ve got it.

Check out Hamilton’s top 5 places to get fried chicken:

5. Coop Hamilton
274 King St W, Hamilton

Nothing like a classic Chicken & Waffles! What was unique about this dish was the bourbon syrup that topped their fried chicken and waffles. Sweet syrup with a little bit of a kick complimented the fried chicken nicely. My only caution was the waffle got a little soggy in delivery … but we’re here for the chicken anyway, right?

4. Saltlick Smokehouse
282 James St N, Hamilton

Saltlick’s fried chicken was straight to the point. The chicken was very tender, covered in crispy salted breading. I opted for just a piece of fried chicken, but the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich includes their spicy breaded chicken and is topped with smoked honey hot sauce which sounds amazing.

3. The Dirty South
10 Barton St E, Hamilton

The Dirty South lets you build your own fried chicken masterpiece. I opted for a mac n’ cheese base topped with fried chicken, corn, slaw, pickles and buttermilk ranch. The chicken was tender and the dressing/spices were just hot enough. Up next for me: fried chicken and all the fixings on a pretzel bun.

2. Memphis Fire Barbeque
1091 King’s, Stoney Creek

Memphis is known for its “famous buttermilk fried chicken”. Double-dredged Buttermilk marinated chicken, topped with their house-made ranch dressing. Make sure you plan ahead as it’s only available after 4:00PM Tuesday to Thursday. I also recommend tossing some biscuits and apple slaw. Want to have the best wedding ever?  Have Memphis cater it.

1. The Pigeon
3200 Homestead Dr, Mount Hope

If you are looking for fried chicken variety, this is the place to go! Listen to their feature for this week: Cantonese BBQ sauce, crispy onions, ginger mayo, cilantro, pickled vegetables, iceberg and sesame. Delicious! If you need a little food porn in your social media feed, I highly recommend you follow them on Instagram … and of course try their fried chicken.
