Tims breakfast sandwiches now made exclusively with Canadian eggs

It’s time for freshly cracked eggs in Tim Hortons kitchens: Restaurants across Canada now proudly serving 100% Canadian freshly cracked eggs in all breakfast sandwiches (CNW Group/Tim Hortons)

Have you been supporting local during the pandemic? If you’ve tried Tim Hortons revamped breakfast sandwich, the answer is yes.

The iconic chain known for its coffee has announced it has made some changes to its popular breakfast sandwich.

Moving forward, all Tims’ breakfast sandwiches will be made with 100 per cent Canadian Grade A large egg—the breakfast sandwiches’ packaging will display the Egg Quality Assurance certification mark, which signifies the use of the highest quality Canadian eggs that meet national food safety and animal welfare standards..

“Guests loved the change and they couldn’t wait for today’s official launch,” Chef Tallis Voakes, Tim Hortons new culinary lead, said in a news release.

“Tims is committed to delivering better food quality across the board and that’s really exemplified by the move to freshly cracked eggs, along with the other important changes we made with elevating the bacon and English muffins and buttery biscuits for our breakfast sandwiches. There are more amazing food changes coming to Tim Hortons this year and I’m so excited for guests from coast to coast to coast to try them,” Voakes continued.

However, this change is not exclusive to the breakfast sandwich, wraps, biscuits, and bagels will also be made with eggs sourced from Canadian egg farmers.

“We are thrilled that Tim Hortons is displaying our Egg Quality Assurance certification mark on their advertisements for freshly cracked menu offerings, showcasing their commitment to sourcing high-quality Canadian eggs and supporting the 1,100 hardworking Canadian egg farmers who produce them every day to world-class standards,” Roger Pelissero, Chair of Egg Farmers of Canada, said in the same release.

Additionally, those who place an order for a breakfast sandwich and spend $9 or more through the registered Tim Hortons app will have it delivered for free until February 28.
