Access to several roads on the Hamilton Mountain is restricted Wednesday morning (Nov. 18) as city water crews work to repair three watermain breaks.

Residents in the area of West 5th between Stone Church and Rymal are experiencing low to no water pressure currently, and the cause of the breaks, the City says in a press release, is currently unknown.

Traffic is seeing significant restrictions in the areas of the watermain breaks as well.

“Due to the severity of the breaks, West 5th Rd between Rymal Rd W and Stone Church Rd W is fully closed to traffic,” the City said.

“Traffic restrictions are currently in place on Jameston Ave between West 5th Rd and Upper James St as well as Limeridge Rd W between Garth St and Bonaventure Dr.”

Repairs are estimated to conclude around 3 p.m. Wednesday and in the meantime, motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area until roads are reopened.
