Province reporting new record high of 4,456 COVID-19 cases today

Ontario is reporting a record high number of new COVID-19 cases today (April 11), with 4,456 new cases throughout the province — the most in one day since the pandemic began.
860 of those cases are in Peel, setting a new record of daily cases for the region (soon after it previously reported an all-time high of 762 cases on Friday, April 9).
There are 1,353 new cases in Toronto, 444 in York Region, 377 in Ottawa, 329 in Durham, 118 in Halton, and 116 in Hamilton.
The province also reported 21 new deaths linked to the virus.
Since yesterday, 2,617 more cases are considered resolved and nearly 56,400 more tests were completed.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 3,139,743 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

In addition to the current stay-at-home order, the province is issuing emergency orders that will allow overwhelmed hospitals to transfer patients if necessary, as well as allow the transfer of healthcare staff to hospitals that need more help.
The province also announced this week that it will be opening up vaccination to anyone 18 years of age and older in hotspot neighbourhoods in such hard-hit municipalities as Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Toronto.
