The province is reporting 744 new COVID-19 cases today, June 5 (down 170 from yesterday) and 24 deaths (up 5 from yesterday).

There are 181 new cases in Toronto, 123 in Peel, 61 in Hamilton, 51 in the Region of Waterloo, 48 in York Region, 48 in the Porcupine Health Unit region, and only 10 in Halton.

Since yesterday, 1,242 more cases are considered resolved and over 27,800 more tests completed.

9,834,182 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario to date.

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott says the province is looking at ways for letting Ontarians of all ages book second vaccine appointments by weeks or even months ahead of what was originally planned.

“We’re looking at all options because we need to stay ahead of this (Delta) variant so that we can then move into stage one and get life back more to normal for people as quickly as we can,” she said referring to the new name for the variant that came from India.

Today’s full case data is available at the province’s website.
