Province reporting 1,300 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths

The province is reporting 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 today (Saturday, February 13) and 19 deaths linked to the virus.

There are 433 new cases in Toronto, 253 in Peel, 116 in York, 48 in Hamilton, and 38 in Halton.

Since yesterday, 1,434 more cases are considered resolved and nearly 58,800 additional tests were completed.

As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 456,947 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario.

The province recently announced that regions could begin opening back up this week, with Peel potentially reopening the following week.

“This is not a return to normal. Please continue to follow the public health measures and stay home as much as possible,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott.
