The province is reporting 1,299 new COVID-19 cases today (Sunday, March 7), up from yesterday’s count of 990.

15 new deaths linked to the virus have been reported.

There are 329 new cases in Toronto, 192 in Peel, and 116 in York Region. Hamilton and Halton have 89 and 39 new cases, respectively.

Since yesterday, 1,105 more cases are considered resolved and nearly 46,600 additional tests completed.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliott, 890,604 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario.

Peel and Toronto are set to partially reopen on Monday, March 8 in the “grey zone” of the province’s reopening framework.

“A return to the Framework is not a return to normal. Help stop the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to follow public health advice,” said Elliott.

Today’s full case data is available on the province’s website.
