The Province has implemented a new way for residents to safely enjoy provincial parks this summer.

As of Monday (June 7), Ontario Parks will be offering a new service for 17 provincial parks that will allow visitors to book a daily vehicle permit up to five days in advance of their visit, thereby guaranteeing their spot for the day.

There is no cost for the permits—they can be obtained online, or over the phone.

The advance booking format will help organize park attendance, as well as help prevent overcrowding and line ups.

Ontario Parks is anticipating a busy summer, with plenty of demand among visitors, so they are encouraging those who wish to plan a trip book their permit in advance, in order to prevent showing up and being unable to get a spot.

Additionally, all public safety measures will be enforced at provincial parks, and visitors are instructed to wear a face covering when using indoor facilities, as well as when physical distancing may be a challenge or not possible outdoors.
