Health Canada reports that multiple products have been recalled from stores this week (June 21 to 27) due to potential health and safety risks.

Residents are advised to check if they have these products at home and avoid using or consuming them out of caution.

The following products are affected:

Dole brand Fresh Packed Blueberries

Risk: Possible Cyclospora contamination. Food contaminated with Cyclospora may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick with symptoms such as watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, and nausea.

What you should do: Recalled products should be returned to the store where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, contact your doctor.

Nestlé brand Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones

Risk: The cones may contain milk which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to milk should avoid eating them.

What you should do: Recalled products should be returned to the store where they were purchased.

Al-Rabih brand Halva / Halawa

Risk: Possible Salmonella contamination. Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick with symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Risks are higher for young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.

What you should do: Recalled products should be returned to the store where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, contact your doctor.

CAUSEBOX/Alltrue Brushed Gold Kettle

Risk: The kettle can expel hot water and/or excessive steam during use, posing a burn hazard. As of May 18, 2021, the company has identified 33 reports of expelled hot water or steam in Canada, including 6 reports of minor burns.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the affected kettle and contact the Company for an account credit, or a refund in certain cases. For more information, consumers may contact the Company at 1-866-512-2152 from 09:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday or at the firm’s website at www.causebox.com and click on Safety Notices.

Curt Ball & Pintle Hitch

Risk: The pivot hole is out of position, which can limit the locking jaw engagement. This may allow the upper jaw to unlatch and a towed vehicle to separate, possibly resulting in a crash.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the recalled hitches and contact Curt Manufacturing for a free replacement. For more information, contact Curt Manufacturing by telephone at 1-800-798-0813.

Pok Pok Thaan Thai-Style Charcoal

Risk: The product doesn’t meet proper bilingual warning label requirements, which may lead to some consumers using it inside or in an area without proper ventilation, posing a suffocation hazard.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the product and contact Knifewear Inc. for a corrected bilingual label. For more information, contact Thaan LLC by e-mail at [email protected].
