Hamilton man suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck by car in east end: police

Hamilton Police are investigating after a man was hospitalized after being struck by a car in the city’s east end Thursday night (Feb. 4).

Police say shortly before 7:30 p.m., they were called to the area of Mount Albion Road, just south of Greenhill to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

Once on the scene, emergency crews located a 31-year-old Hamilton man who was then transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, he was struck by a vehicle that was travelling northbound on Mount Albion Road as he walked southbound in the northbound lanes of the road.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Hamilton man, remained on scene and is co-operating with investigators.

Due to the severity of the pedestrian’s injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.

Police say speed, driver impairment and distraction have been ruled out.
