Sherwood Secondary school on the East Mountain is closed Monday (Nov. 30) to “support a police matter.”

In a Tweet sent around 6:30 a.m., the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) said that remote learning for all Sherwood students would be undertaken as the building remains closed.

Hamilton Police say they are in the process of investigating an online threat made towards the school.

So far, police said in a Tweet, the reported threat remains unsubstantiated.

The closure of the school was taken at a precautionary measure.

The HWDSB says details of the schools reopening are forthcoming.
