A group of 25 coworkers from southern Ontario are celebrating a big Lotto Max win.
Anthony D’Antuono of Milton, Adriano Battista of Orangeville, Alexandre Costa of Mississauga, Andrij-Jaroslaw Kotowych of Mississauga, Christopher Baillie of Mississauga, Curtis Hammond of Mississauga, Danny Melo of Brampton, Dionisio Cartusiano of Mississauga, Edward Smith of Brampton, Gabriele Gallo of Milton, Giovanni Schiralli of Mississauga, Jeffrey Pinkerton of Mississauga, John Offless of Hamilton, John Sutman of Georgetown, Leon Ferguson of Mississauga, Michael Kennedy of Mississauga, Ormond Bunyan of Milton, Patrick Collins of Ancaster, Paul Hutchison of Rockwood, Peter Davos of Mississauga, Piotr Tecza of Binbrook, Robert Markusich of Mississauga, Salvatore Pirroncello of Richmond Hill, Thomas Michibata of Etobicoke, and Walter Amaral of Orangeville will all be splitting the prize of $70,730.
According to D’Antuono, the group has been playing every week for the last 10 years, and even has a specific set of numbers they use.
D’Antuono was enjoying a coffee and checking the group’s ticket when he noticed some of the numbers matched. “I thought to myself, I think we won something big!” he said.
Upon realizing they had won, D’Antuono took a screenshot and sent it to the group chat. Many didn’t believe it could be true.
“I received many texts and calls from the group asking if it was real,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Petro Canada on Britannia Road in Mississauga.
