The federal government recently announced that it’s “providing support to help youths overcome barriers to education and employment.”

On Tuesday (April 13), the federal government announced it will be providing $6.3 million in funding over three years to the Rideau Hall Foundation’s new Catapult Canada Access Innovation Fund.

The funding will be part of the government’s Goal Getters program, which partners with community organizations to support youth facing barriers transitioning from secondary to post-secondary education and/or employment.

The funding will be used in part to provide flexible financing models to support equity in access to learning and educational opportunities as well as to help narrow the gap in students accessing post-secondary education.

It will also be used to launch new grant initiatives, as well as scaling up existing programs.

“The Rideau Hall Foundation is delighted to be partnering with the Government of Canada on Catapult Canada’s Access Innovation Fund,” Teresa Marques, president and CEO of the Rideau Hall Foundation, said in a news release.

“The fund is designed to be nimble and responsive, and to quickly deliver resources to youth-serving organizations that are starting or scaling up new learning projects that they might not have otherwise had the capacity to put in place. Most importantly, Catapult Canada offers a unique community to share their experiences and approaches with other organizations across the country, and to build on the success of others,” she continued.
