A very recognizable Hamilton-based ice cream truck is setting up shop permanent in Ancaster and they’re opening their doors very soon.

Crazy Cravings, the bright pink ice cream truck that has served up all kinds of yummy frozen treats across Hamilton for years now, plans to open its new storefront in the coming days.

“We have been working on our dream for quite a while and now it’s finally come true,” a Facebook post shared earlier this week said.

“We’re almost ready to open…we’ll post our opening day this week.”

Located at 1654 Wilson St. W, next to the Ancaster Fairgrounds, the new storefront will be scooping the delicious ice cream they’re known for from Ontario’s Kawartha Dairy Company, all those sweet and plentiful sundae toppings.

Other menu items include blended frozen yogurt, milkshakes and fresh-squeezed juice, among others.

“You can even choose a made to order Belgian waffle as a base,” the Facebook post said.

“It’s like Baskin Robbins meets Subway and more.”

The family-owned Crazy Cravings hit the road in 2012 and its fleet of colourful and musical ice cream trucks draw crowds wherever they go.

Since the start of the pandemic, Crazy Craving’s self-serve platform has been on hold to reduce person-to-person contact but they’ve remained a constant and comforting presence on Hamilton’s roads.

Now, they will be an even more prominent fixture in the community with their new storefront, as well as keeping the good times rolling on our streets.
