A young man from Cambridge man and his dog has died following a single-vehicle collision in Flamborough Monday night (August 31).

A young man from Cambridge man and his dog has died following a single-vehicle collision in Flamborough Monday night (August 31).

Hamilton Police say the fatal collision occurred shortly before 7:15 p.m. Monday when a 23-year-old man from Cambridge was driving his vehicle eastbound on Concession 10 West when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver and his dog succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have notified family members of the collision.

Out of respect for the family’s request, Hamilton Police said they will not be releasing the name of the driver.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
