Widespread power outage affecting over 8,000 homes in Hamilton

Thousands of residents are without power in Flamborough this evening.

Alectra has reported an outage in the area of Highway 403 to Concession 6 East from Hamilton Street North to Millgrove Side Road, and Concession 6 East to Mountainbrow Road from Highway 6 to Kerns Road.

8,719 homes and businesses are affected.

The cause of the power outage is a fallen tree, Alectra reports.

Crews have been dispatched to make repairs and power is estimated to return by 10:00 p.m.
