Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an elderly male pedestrian struck by an SUV on Friday evening.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an elderly male pedestrian struck by an SUV on Friday evening.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019 when an elderly male was crossing northbound on Main Street East in the crosswalk on the west side of Sanford Avenue when he was struck by a dark coloured SUV travelling eastbound on Main Street.

“The suspect vehicle failed to remain at the scene and the elderly male was transported to the Hamilton General Hospital and remains in critical but stable condition,” police say.

The victim is described as a white male, 50-70 years old, 5’11-6’2 inches tall, 240-250 pounds, with a stocky build, wearing grey shorts, a white t-shirt, and white running shoes. He walks with a cane.

The suspect vehicle is a dark coloured four-door SUV or full-size vehicle that will have extensive front end and windshield damage.
