A unique outdoor experience is coming soon to the parking lot at Lime Ridge Mall, and it combines two very popular sports: golf and hockey.

Starting Dec. 19, and running until Dec. 23, a portion of the parking lot on the northwest side of the mall will be converted into a nine-hole Canadian-themed mini-golf course.

‘Frozen Fairways’ is unique in that instead of using putters and golf balls, players will use hockey sticks and a puck and the course will features holes that are designed to reflect some aspect of Canadiana, like curling, sugar shacks, hockey and more.

“As an outdoor event, the Frozen Fairways experience has enforced physical distancing measures, regular and frequent sanitation procedures and minimized contact wherever possible,” a press release from the mall’s parent company, Cadillac Fairview, said.

“Additionally, to limit the number of guests visiting the activation and to minimize crowding, the experience is only accessible to guests via online registration.”

A reservation can be made for up to four people from the same household, and start times will be set ten minutes apart to limit the potential for crowding.

Masks are also recommended on and off the course.

Starting Tuesday (Dec. 8), residents can start making reservations and more information will become available on the company’s website.
