Two Drivers Caught Doing Dangerous Speeds in Hamilton

Two drivers were nabbed over the weekend stunt driving on Nikola Tesla Boulevard in Hamilton. Their licence and vehicles were seized for seven days.
Two drivers were nabbed over the weekend stunt driving on Nikola Tesla Boulevard in Hamilton. Their licence and vehicles were seized for seven days. A finding of guilt in November will result in additional penalties from the court system.
On Saturday, October 26, 2019, shortly after 11:30 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Nikola Tesla Boulevard near Industrial Drive. At that time a Volkswagen Jetta was observed travelling at a speed faster than the posted speed limit.
Through investigation, police learned the vehicle was travelling at 112 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted and police confirmed the driver was an 18-year-old St. Catharines man with a G2-class licence.
On Sunday, October 27, 2019, shortly after 7:30 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Nikola Tesla Boulevard near Kenilworth Avenue North. At that time a Hyundai Elantra was observed travelling at a speed faster than the posted speed limit.
Through investigation, police learned the vehicle was travelling at 113 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted and police confirmed the driver was a 27-year-old St. Catharines woman with a G-class licence.

Both drivers are scheduled to appear in court in late November by way of court summons, to answer to the charges.

In accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, stunt driving violations result in an immediate seven-day driver’s licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for the same period.
