Two COVID cases reported at Hamilton grocery store; public health adds two more deaths

Loblaw announced Wednesday (Dec. 30) that two employees in Hamilton tested positive for COVID-19.

The employees worked at Frank’s No Frills, located at Rymal Rd. and Upper Sherman.

According to the parent company, the last days the employees worked was Dec. 17 and Dec. 26, respectively.

Hamilton Public Health is reporting 1,260 total active cases a Wednesday, adding 31 more positive tests to the total number from Tuesday.

Public health also reported two new deaths, bringing the total to 164—which represents 3 per cent of the total cases.

The weekly rate of new cases (per 100,000 population) in Hamilton is 124.

3.4% of COVID-19 tests within the past 7 days had a positive result.
