Top 5 Locke Street patios that are now open

The time has finally come! Hamilton has moved into Stage 2 and we are now able to social distance … on a patio. Grab your mask, hand sanitizer, and someone in your ten-person social circle and head over to Locke Street. Hint: make a reservation.

Take a look at the top 5 Locke Street patios ready to serve you this weekend:

5. CIMA Enoteca

CIMA is a hot ticket right now and you will definitely need a reservation. The food and drinks were good as always (see Top 5 Italian) and it’s a nice patio to spend an evening on. My only note is that the staff could have been friendlier, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt as working on a busy patio during COVID-19 must be a tough job. Make that reservation now and head over to CIMA for a cocktail.

4. Earth to Table: Bread Bar

I will preface this by saying they don’t technically have a patio, but rather a couple of tables set up outside where you can have your meal. I got the Millenial Falcon pizza (switched up the red sauce for white) and I’m drooling just typing about it – it was that good. You order your food and drinks inside and the staff brings it out to you on the ‘patio’. The staff at Bread Bar are COVID-19 courteous and super friendly.

3. Souvlocke

I did not expect such an amazing patio behind Locke Street’s token Greek food hot spot. Amazing Greek food. Amazing Greek Beer. And amazing Greek wines. I went for the classic Souvlocke’s Souvlaki chicken dinner and it was a large portion and delicious. I highly recommend this patio (or curbside!)

2. Brux House

Brux House did the best job setting up their tables to make their customers feel safe and comfortable. They even offer masks if you forgot yours and feel better having one on. The staff was amazing, the Brux Burger was devoured in under five minutes and the Mojito was everything I’ve been wanting (and too lazy to make myself). Great food and very COVID responsible.

1. Mattson & Co.

This was my first patio of the season and it is was my favourite patio on Locke Street. The staff and owner are very COVID-19 aware and you will frequently see people running around cleaning. The staff is super friendly, the owner is super friendly and the food/drinks were amazing. I could sit and have a nice glass of wine and the Street Corn Fritters every single day. I’ve gone twice this week and will probably be there again on the weekend.

What’s your favourite patio in Hamilton (open or not)?
