Top 5 Hamilton patios in the downtown core

Let’s keep the patio season going! As more patios open, the more we test and let you know.

Take a look at the top 5 patios in Hamilton’s core ready to serve you this week:

5. The French

The French has a great set-up on the closed King William street. I opted for the ‘Dine In Only’ cocktail for the sheer irony of only being allowed to drink it outside. Tasted great and made me feel fancy. The only reason they get the number 5 spot is that they were less considerate of COVID-19. They didn’t ask for our legally required contact information and didn’t provide cutlery/napkins for our appetizers.

4) La Cantina

Their patio feels like a little Italian oasis—especially with this heat we have been experiencing. Whether you are going for a glass of sangria or a 4 course Italian meal, this is the place to go. The staff was amazing and the patio is well spaced out and clean.

3) MERIT Brewing Company

They tell you to ‘”ook for the lemonade stand entrance” to enter their patio and extended beer garden. If that intrigue isn’t enough to get you to pop by Merit, take a moment to remember their sausage and in-house brewed beer. The patio looks great. The good tastes great. And the beer is top-notch. No reservations needed, just stop by.

2) The Mule

Tacos.

Margaritas.

Outside.

That’s all that needs to be said.

1) Bar Sazerac

I could go to this patio all day, every day. They have created an outdoor bar so that you can watch your award-winning cocktails being made. I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the drink (a.k.a multiple drinks) I had, but I can confidently say that anything you have here will be the best cocktail you’ve ever had. If you prefer to quarantine at home, they offer amazing cocktail kits.
