Picture this, you wake up in the morning and your memories of the night before are a haze, you aren’t sure where any of your stuff is, and, as you try to piece together how you got home, your only clue is an email with an Uber reciept.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone–Uber recently released the items most commonly forgotten in their vehicles.

The top 10 items most commonly forgotten are:

      10: water bottle

      9: jewellry

      8: vaporizer

      7: glasses

      6: headphones

      5: clothing

      4: backpack

      3: keys

      2: wallet/purse

      1: phone

However, while it likely won’t come as much of a surprise that people would frequently forget their wallet, keys, or phone in an Uber, considering nearly everyone carries at least one of these items (and usually all three), there were also some items forgotten you wouldn’t expect.

The most unexpected items forgotten in an Uber were:

  • 3 canvas paintings of Toronto
  • A college diploma
  • Blonde wig
  • Brown bear costume
  • Caviar
  • Harry Potter board game
  • Intek air mattress
  • Jenga
  • Retainer for my teeth
  • Teeth
  • Ukulele
  • Vacuum cleaner

Also not surprising is the fact riders were most forgetful on Fridays, Saturdays, and late at night–people tend to drink more during these times, which increases the chances they’ll forget something.

The two days where people forgot the most items were March 17–St. Paddy’s Day, and March 10–Daylight Saving time.

Further, Uber ranked the items riders were most likely to forget based on the day of the week: Monday riders were most likely to forget a phone charger, Tuesday riders were most likely to forget a stroller, Wednesday riders were most likely to forget a laptop, Thursday riders were most likely to forget a book, Friday riders were most likely to forget a phone charger, Saturday riders were most likely to forget an umbrella, and Sunday riders were most likely to forget cash.

Moreover, certain cities were more forgetful than others. Windsor was the most forgetful city in Canada, while Quebec City, Niagara, Montreal, and Kingston rounded out the top five.

To recover items they lost during a trip, Uber riders are instructed to use the app to contact their driver and schedule a time and location they can meet to retrieve the lost item.
