A special weather statement has been issued for Hamilton Monday morning (June 21) as the city braces for some wet weather.
Environment Canada issued the statement, warning of thunderstorms and heavy downpours throughout the day.
“Some of the thunderstorms will contain very heavy downpours giving rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm,” the weather agency said.
“Locally, higher rainfall amounts are possible in areas that receive a couple thunderstorms in a row.”
The statement also urges motorists to drive with extreme caution as sudden very low visibility in heavy downpours is possible and to watch for ponding water on poorly drained sections of highways.
