Environment Canada has put out a severe thunderstorm warning for Hamilton.

According to Environment Canada, thunderstorms tracking through Southwestern Ontario may produce damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours up to 50 mm in an hour or less this evening.

“Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” advises the government.
