Senior ‘thrown’ and ‘assaulted’ in alleged road rage incident: Hamilton Police

Hamilton Police say a 73-year-old man was thrown to the ground and assaulted after an alleged road rage incident in Ancaster on Sept. 13.

At approximately 11 a.m. police responded to the area of Wilson St and Fiddlers Green Rd. They say the incident on the road escalated to where the vehicles pulled into a plaza nearby.

“Upon arriving, the male drivers exited their vehicles and an alteration took place resulting in a 73-year-old male being thrown to the ground and assaulted,” said police in an official news release.

Omar Strickland, 56, was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear at the John Sopinka Court House on Nov. 19 to answer to the charges.
