Hamilton Police have arrested a retired school teacher following an investigation into two historical sexual assaults.

According to a press release issued Tuesday (July 6), 57-year-old John Douglas Hashimoto of Hamilton was arrested last Wednesday (June 30).

He faces the following charges:

Hashimoto is a retired schoolteacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, during which time he worked at four schools — Billy Green, Queensdale and Dr. Davey Elementary Schools and Sherwood Secondary School — between 1987 to 2019 and was also a former youth baseball coach in the City of Hamilton.

He was also a Lead Baseball Instructor for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy and a Master Coach Developer and Evaluator for Baseball Canada.
