West Town Bar & Grill celebrated their grand reopening this past weekend and customers will be surprised by some of the changes they’ve made.

This Locke Street stalwart has used their time off due to COVID-19 to undergo some extensive renovations but perhaps the biggest — and quite welcome — change is the addition of a beautiful patio.

Just in time for the latest edition of Locke’s Seven Saturdays, West Town started welcoming loyal patrons back to the restaurant this weekend to christen the new patio located just off the main street in a lot adjacent to West Town’s historic building.

It adds ample and physically distanced seating, plenty of shade, and a front-row seat to one of Hamilton’s most happening locales.

A mural, which for some may seem bittersweet after CFL announced there won’t be an abbreviated football season, depicting our beloved Tiger-Cats provides that unique Hamilton flair.

It’s a welcome addition to Locke, particularly given that West Town is perhaps one of the city’s most beloved pubs.

Like most businesses in Hamilton, West Town was forced to close their doors when COVID-19 came to our city. They announced their closure on what likely would have been one of the busiest days of the year for them, St. Patrick’s Day.

Since then, the pub’s social media channels went silent, until early July when the city voted on a bylaw to relax some of the rules associated with patios in an effort to allow small businesses recoup some of their losses due to the pandemic by expanding their footprint.

Since then, work has been underway to create their new outdoor space.

The West Town’s reopening was so successful, in fact, that the pub is looking to hire more people.
