Police seeking public’s assistance in identifying suspect connected to stabbing in Hamilton

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a stabbing that occurred in Hamilton.

On Monday (March 22), at approximately 9:30 p.m., Hamilton Police Service (HPS) was called to the area of Main Street North and John Street East in relation to a man who was stabbed multiple times while walking with his spouse.

Over the course of the investigation, HPS believes the suspect was caught on surveillance video the night of the altercation shortly before it occurred.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’10” tall, with a slim build. He is believed to have been wearing a dark, hip-length jacket, a hoodie, tan pants, and dark shoes.

Police are encouraging those who may recognize the suspect not to approach him, and instead call 9-1-1 immediately.
