On Tuesday, September 23, 2019, shortly before 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a parking lot located at the intersection of Cannon Street East and Sanford Avenue North for reports of shots fired. Through investigation, police determined a disturbance occurred between a group of males resulting in the discharging of a firearm.

The males fled the scene before police arrival. A small silver SUV is believed to be related to one of the males.

Police have identified three persons of interest:

  • One Asian male in his late teens, wearing glasses, dark clothing, driving a silver SUV.
  • One black male, in his late teens, wearing a dark hoodie and shorts.
  • One middle eastern male, in his late teens.

Police believe the males in the altercation are all known to each other and the incident was targeted.

Shortly after midnight, Hamilton Police received information of shots fired in the area of King Street East and East Avenue, followed by a black sport looking four-door car, fleeing the area.

Officers responded to a nearby alleyway and located evidence confirming a shooting had occurred. The parties involved left the scene before police arrival.

There are no reported injuries in both incidents.

Yesterday (September 24) afternoon Hamilton Police investigated a shooting incident in the area of Cannon Street East and Wentworth Street North. At this time, there is no evidence to support if the three incidents are related.
