Police investigating a targeted shooting of a dog in Hamilton

On Friday, February 7, 2020 just shortly before 9:00 pm, Hamilton Police responded to reports of a dog being shot in the area of Brampton street and Dunn avenue.

The homeowner let his German Shepherd out the front door as two male suspects approached the residence.

One of the males pulled out a firearm and shot the dog. The suspect was confronted by a female attending the residence. The suspect pointed the firearm at the female and then fled on foot.

The suspects ran westbound on Brampton street and northbound on Dunn avenue. Police are looking for witnesses and asking people to check their home security cameras.

Suspect Description:

1. Male/black, 5’9 – 6 ft, thin build, 20-25 yrs, black coat with red/white hoodie (shooter)

2. Male/black, 5’6 – 5’8 ft, heavy set, 20-25 yrs, charcoal gray track suit, black Toque

Hamilton Police believe this to be a targeted shooting. The German Shepard was immediately transported to a veterinarian and will survive.
