Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an incident involving a man who claimed to have a gun aboard a GO Transit bus that was Hamilton-bound.

Earlier today, a 55-year-old man boarded a GO Transit bus in Brantford that was heading to Hamilton. According to witnesses, during the trip, the man—who appeared dishevelled—was talking to himself and mentioned a gun.

Passengers who overheard him became concerned and contacted the police.

Both the OPP and Halton Regional Police Services followed the bus, and, when it arrived at the Aldershot GO station in Burlington, police boarded the bus and took the man into custody.

After searching both the man and the bus, no gun was found, and the OPP is currently handling the investigation.
