Police Investigate Two Robberies in West Hamilton

Hamilton police continue to investigate two robberies in Hamilton’s West End are under investigation, police say.

Both incidents took place Saturday night and police say that there’s no current evidence to suggest that they are connected but are reminding the community to “be aware of their surroundings at all times.”

The first incident took place around 6:30 p.m. as two teens, 17 and 19, were in a parking lot at the intersection of Main Street West and Bowman Street when they were approached by a group which included males and females.

One of the victims was assaulted and personal were stolen from both victims, police say. The suspects fled the scene immediately. The assaulted victim did not require medical attention.

One suspect is described as a man standing approximately 5’10 with a small build. The group is believed to be ranging in age from 18-25-years-of-age, police say.

A short time later, a man, 18, visiting a McMaster student was sitting outside a residence when he was approached by another man. The victim was assaulted and he was forced to turn over some personal items.

The suspect fled alongside four other men. Again, the victim did not require medical attention, police say.

The incident was initially reported to McMaster Security who contacted Hamilton Police. Both agencies continue to investigate the incident.
