Police charge 19-year-old Hamilton man in connection to series of car break-ins

Hamilton Police said they have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man in relation to a string of vehicle entries in Dundas and the central mountain area.
Hamilton Police said they have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man in relation to a string of vehicle entries in Dundas and the central mountain area.
From April 2020 through August 2020, police said in a press release issued Monday (Sept. 14), a string of vehicle entries occurred in the Hamilton area.
Police say the suspect(s) targetted unlocked vehicles and money, personal items and credit cards were taken by individuals. Those items were later used to assist with committing additional crimes.
Throughout an extensive investigation, detectives from the Hamilton Police Criminal Investigations Bureau identified 19-year-old Kevin Mallozzi, who is from Hamilton, as a potential suspect.

On Friday, September 4, 2020, police say Mallozzi was located and arrested without incident. He was held for a bail hearing where he faced several property-related charges.
Mallozzi was charged with:
- Theft under $5000 X5
- Possession under $5000 X5
- Fraud under $5000 X2
- Possession of Stolen Credit Card X3
- Trespass by night X 2
As the investigation is ongoing, police said more charges are a possibility.
Hamilton Police are reminding owners to remove from plain sight, items of value from their vehicle’s cabin area, to lock their doors when their vehicle is left unattended and, when possible, park in a well-lit and travelled area.
