With the city under COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, it can be difficult to find fun activities this winter. However, if you’re looking to get outdoors and make the most of what is available, Hamilton-based event planning organization, Modrn Events, has you covered.

The Hanrahan Trail at 92 Barton St. E features two public skating rinks, an evergreen trail, lighting displays, an outdoor market (currently closed due to restrictions), various forms of entertainment, and hot treats.

Modrn Events created two skating rinks, totalling over 5000 square feet. Tickets are required at $6 per skater. Rental skates are also available for $5.

Visitors can also stroll through the Evergreen Path, decorated with bright lights.

“There will be plenty of activities every time you visit,” says Modrn Events. “There will be music, performers, decor setup, and vendors.”

The company also set up “The Hanrahan Initiative”

“As a small business owner, who lost 2 businesses during the pandemic, we have experienced and witnessed firsthand the effect on small businesses,” Modrn Events wrote on its official website.

“We plan to implement the Hanrahan Initiative, to help small businesses through this difficult time, so they won’t have to go through what we went through.”

The company says it will donate $1 from all tickets sold to support the local business chosen on a given week.

“We hope that this little gift will help these businesses make it through, where we could not.”

You can purchase tickets or nominate a small business at modrnevents.com.
