‘My hands were shaking’: Hamilton man wins $1-million Lotto 6/49 prize

Donald Leblanc, a 63-year-old delivery driver won the guaranteed $1-million prize in the Oct. 24 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“I checked my numbers online, but didn’t believe I won,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I was shocked when I used the ticket checker at the store and saw ‘big winner’ appear.”

In fact, Donald scanned his ticket again to make sure.

“The retailer poked his head around to see if everything was okay. I handed him my ticket and he told me to sign it. I did my best, but my hands were shaking,” he said.

“I felt a mix of shock, disbelief and then wanted to ensure I kept the ticket safe.”

Donald said he plans to pay some bills and then has a special purchase in mind.

“I’m a car lover, so I might purchase a Corvette in my favourite colour—teal!”

The winning ticket was purchased at The Lottery Shop on Rebecca St. in Oakville.
