McMaster University says another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in one student.

McMaster University says another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in one student.

According to a press release from Wednesday (Sept. 30), the student was last on campus on September 24 and spent a short amount of time in the Psychology Building. The school says they were notified by public health of the confirmed case on Wednesday.

“The building has been thoroughly cleaned and the student had been following all required health and safety protocols while on campus,” the release says.

As part of the university’s COVID-19 protocols, when they are notified that someone is awaiting test results and has been on campus, the areas where the person had been on campus in the past 72 hours are cleaned out of an abundance of caution, the release says.

However, in the majority of cases the test results have been negative.

Since the start of the school year, there have been several confirmed cases of virus in people who have accessed the campus.

The university continues to ask people coming to campus to screen themselves for symptoms of the virus and to stay home if they are displaying any.
