LATEST: Christmas forecast for Hamilton

Published December 24, 2020 at 9:40 pm

It’s going to be a very white Christmas this year thanks to some last-minute snow.

The current forecast calls for snowfall that will continue through Christmas morning (Friday, December 25), with snow quickly accumulating at times.

10 to 15 cm is expected.

“The snow may become heavy at times this evening and overnight, with snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour possible at times. Snow should gradually ease into scattered flurries late Friday morning.,” Environment Canada reports.

As of 7:00 p.m., Hamilton Airport has reported 4 cm of snow.

Residents should drive cautiously, as poor winter road conditions may result from black ice and the rapidly accumulating snow.
