Still, statistics show it’s one of the more affordable communities in which to live in the Golden Horseshoe.

So we thought we would take a look at what a typical three-bedroom, two-bath home in five Hamilton neighbourhoods would run you.


Corktown


This is a pretty vibrant community in downtown Hamilton that has seen a lot of growth in recent years. It is one of Hamilton’s oldest neighbourhoods and is, therefore, known for its historic homes and architecture. It’s ideally situated for commuters and weekend warriors. According to Zoocasa, the average listing price in Corktown for all home types is $670,131, which is 71 per cent higher than August 2018. The average list price differs significantly when broken down by home type. The average listing price of a house is $883,086, $599,000 for a townhouse, and $421,683 for a condo.

This Corktown home sold in the last three months for $522,000. The list price of this 4 bed, 2 bath home on Hunter Street was $549,900.

Inch Park

This neighbourhood on the East Mountain is pretty much in the thick of things. It’s right near many major arteries making it pretty ideal in terms of travelling around the city and beyond. The average listing price, according to Zoocasa, in Inch Park for all home types is $507,056, which is 20 per cent lower than August 2018.

This lovely home in Inch Park that sold within the last two months for $475,000. It was listed for $485,000 and is a 3 + 1 bed, 2 bath home on East 12th Street.

Bartonville

This neighbourhood in lower East Hamilton is situated between Lawrence and Main and boasts a number of fantastic schools and green spaces. It’s close to the Red Hill Valley Parkway and a couple of major arterial roadways that make travel around the city easy. According to Zoocasa, the average listing price in Bartonville for all home types is $519,214, which is 32 per cent higher than August 2018.

The beautiful home on Weir Street South. is listed for $525,000 and has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and attached garage (you don’t see that too often in this neighbourhood).


Mcquesten West

Here’s another gorgeous neighbourhood in East Hamilton (a little North Hamilton too) that features great schools, plentiful amenities, proximity to major roads and highways and beautifully maintained homes. The average listing price in Mcquesten West for all home types is $449,067, which is 23 per cent higher than August 2018.

This bungalow on Adair sold within the last three months for $430,000. It was originally listed for $599,900 (!!!).

North End East

This is a fascinating neighbourhood. It seems like for a long time, there wasn’t a lot happening. A lot of homes seemed to fall into disrepair. There are quite a few, though, that remained immaculate. There is certainly a number of people who saw something special in that neighbourhood where others didn’t. With all of the development happening along the waterfront here, things are booming in North End East. The average listing price in North End East, according to Zoocasa, for all home types is $481,564, which is nine per cent higher than August 2018. 

Located on Mary Street, this 3-bed, one-bath home sold for $415,000 in the last month. It was listed for $424,900.

This adorable 3-bed, 2-bath home on John Street North is for sale as we speak and they’re asking $549,900.
