Another heat warning is currently in effect, with Environment Canada tracking a very warm airmass that’s expected to affect the Golden Horseshoe on Sunday and Monday.

Highs of near 31 degrees Celsius and lows hovering around 20 degrees Celsius are expected.

“This [heat] event is expected to be mainly confined to urban areas where minimum temperatures will be highest,” said Environment Canada.

Additionally, there’s a risk of thunderstorms Saturday evening and throughout Sunday, with a chance of more rain on Monday.

The heat should end on Monday night as a cooler airmass moves into the region.

Residents are reminded to be safe and watch for symptoms of heat illness, which include swelling, rashes, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and the worsening of some health conditions.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and people working or exercising outdoors.
