Head of McMaster University’s COVID-19 research team is ‘hopeful’

McMaster University announced that a team of their researchers has been awarded $1.475-million from the federal government to further investigate COVID-19.

The funding, announced Friday by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, will support the “requisite infrastructure and equipment to advance their work”, said the Hamilton-based university.

The team is led by virologist Karen Mossman, McMaster’s vice-president of research. She joined Inthehammer.com’s Anthony Urciuoli to discuss how the funding will be used, where we are in the search for a COVID-19 vaccine, and how important it is for the government to support and champion science.
