Hamilton’s Youth Wellness Centre to host pop-up vaccine clinic this week, walk-ins welcome

Hamilton’s Youth Wellness Centre is hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic for people ages 12 to 25 who are underserved/street-involved on Tuesday (June 8).

The clinic will be hosted at the Centre, located at 38 James St. S (second floor), and welcomes drop-ins, no health card is required and it will be staffed by Shelter Health Network physicians and nurses.

The Youth Wellness Centre is a unique St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton service that supports mental health and wellness among Hamilton’s youth by providing low-barrier access to counselling and other supportive programming.

There are several other by-appointment clinics happening throughout Hamilton this week for those aged 12+.

“Currently, youth in Hamilton who are aged 12 and older at the time of vaccination can book an appointment to receive a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine,” the City said in a press release issued over the weekend.

“In an effort to increase access to COVID-19 vaccines for youth in Hamilton, the Hamilton Public Health Services mobile vaccination team will be holding mobile pop-up vaccine clinics in various locations across the city from June 8 to June 14, 2021.”

Appointments for the pop-up clinics can be booked through the Provincial online booking system found at www.hamilton.ca/VaccineBooking or by calling the Provincial call centre at 1-888-999-6488.

“These are by-appointment clinics only, walk-ins are not permitted,” the release said
