Hamilton’s Winterfest kicks off Thursday (Jan. 30) and runs until Feb. 17 and features more than 100 events to get residents out and about.

Events include free skates down at the waterfront and local arenas, live music, comedy shows, craft shows and classes.

The Hamilton Public Library is holding a number of festival events, including storytimes, movies, live music and classes.

This year, for the first time, the Winterfest Hub will be located at the Discovery Centre at the Hamilton Waterfront Trust Centre (Pier 8, 47 Discovery Drive), featuring a light projection animating the works of the 2020 Dorset Fine Arts Inuit Print Collection.

This is also were Frost Bites, an immersive theatre experience put on by local artists will be taking place. Audiences get to choose which shows they’d like to see and when. Performances are ongoing and repeated multiple times each evening throughout the festival. No performance is longer than 20 minutes. To find out about ticketing, check here.

Winterfest has been warming up the community for more than 40 years and last year, the events attracted more than 25,000 people.

The City of Hamilton works with Cobalt Connects, a local arts service organization, to develop and market programming for the weeks-long event.
