One of Hamilton’s fastest-growing and favourite festivals would’ve kicked off Friday (Sept. 4) but alas, like all big events in the city, it was cancelled due to COVID-19 earlier this year.

Organizers of Supercrawl, though, made the announcement Thursday of some of their updated plans to celebrate music, arts and culture in our fair city later this month with the ‘Skytop Live Concert Series’ and a promise of more to come.

“Supercrawl announces a special weekend of music in downtown Hamilton — a six-concert series,” the announcement posted to Supercrawl’s website says.

“Spanning September 24-27, 2020 the dates will bring marquee talents to a temporary open-air venue atop the six-storey municipal parkade at York Boulevard and MacNab Street North.”

The lineup for the concert series includes Tim Hicks, Choir! Choir! Choir, and Hamilton’s own Lee Harvey Osmond, among many others.

All seating is reserved and there is a limit of four (4) tickets. All buyers will be required to present government-issued photo ID upon entry to confirm identity.

Tickets go on sale Friday morning and are available through the Supercrawl website.

The event will feature some vendors and a ‘visual environment’ created by Clear Eyes Collective, as well as a licensed bar with waitstaff service to minimize points of contact.

All attendees are urged to wear properly fitted facemasks except where medical conditions do not allow.

Each concert will be strictly limited to 100 physically distanced attendees, organizers say, each of whom will be assigned a reserved seat spaced two-metres apart and receive a face mask upon entry as part of the ticket price.

All attendees will be screened by questionnaire and touchless infrared thermometer prior to entry, while individuals are asked to self-assess on the day of the event and remain at home if they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or flu-like symptoms.

“In addition to this ticketed series, Supercrawl organizers are working on an additional series of concerts and cultural events running October to March,” organizers said.
