Three Hamilton teens have been arrested in connection to a series of robberies at gas stations and convenience stores in the city, police say.

Hamilton Police say that on Thursday, December 12, 2019, and continuing until the morning of Sunday, December 15, 2019, ten Hamilton businesses were robbed including eight gas bars and two variety stores.

During the robberies two men would enter the business and confront the employee, demanding cash while brandishing a firearm. None of the victims was physically harmed during the crimes.

In the early morning hours of December 15, 2019, after responding to two consecutive robberies in the downtown area and police on high alert, an officer observed the suspect vehicle pull into the lot of another gas station where the occupants exited and approached the door.

Upon seeing the police officer the suspects retreated to their stolen vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed.

Responding officers were able to locate the stolen auto that had been abandoned nearby, and also located the two suspects.

A third accomplice, who is a young person, had been identified as a participant in an earlier robbery was also arrested and charged.

Police have arrested 19-year-old Tyrell Downey, 19-year-old Cody Atkinson and a 16-year-old boy, all from Hamilton. They all face charges of robbery with a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

A replica firearm was recovered and all suspects are currently held in custody for a Bail Hearing as the investigation continues and further charges are anticipated.
