Hamilton ranked second-best mid-sized city in North and South America

Hamilton has been named as the second-best mid-sized City of the Future 2021/2022 according to Foreign Direct Investment (fDi) Magazine.

Additionally, Hamilton was also ranked as the best mid-sized city for business friendliness, the best mid-sized city for connectivity, and the eight-best mid-sized city for human capital and lifestyle.

The fDi rankings evaluate cities across North and South America using a scoring system out of 10 points for each individual criteria, which are weighted by importance to create the overall scores.

The awards are based on several criteria, including infrastructure, incentives and capabilities of cities and regions for attracting future inward investment.

Mississauga and Brampton were among the other GTHA cities that made the list—Mississauga was ranked as the top mid-sized city overall, as well as the second-best city for business friendliness, while Brampton was the second-best city for connectivity, and the sixth-best mid-sized city overall.
