Hamilton Police unable to confirm incident where girl approach by men in white van

Hamilton Police say the investigation into allegations of a suspicious vehicle in the Binbrook area has been concluded after detectives were unable to confirm the incident details.

Hamilton Police say the investigation into allegations of a suspicious vehicle in the Binbrook area has been concluded after detectives were unable to confirm the incident details.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigation Bureau started investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bradley Avenue and Magnificent Way in Binbrook.

At the time, responded to a report of a driver of a white van stopping and instructing a teenage girl to get in. There was no physical contact and the girl did not comply, she ran away.

During the course of the investigation, an appeal was made to the public requesting area residents check their surveillance cameras and contact police to provide any information that could assist.

Police say the response was positive and they received numerous leads in the form of videos which did confirm the existence of a white van in the area at the time.

As a result of reviewing the information gathered from video surveillance and witnesses, detectives, however, are unable to confirm the events occurred as described to police.

Hamilton Police say they would like to thank the community for their assistance in this investigation as it was crucial to determining the events that transpired.
